CLINTON — Two local radio stations have reverted back to local ownership for the first time since 1998.

A deal was finalized Tuesday between Gendreau Broadcasting and Prairie Radio Communications, in the sale of KMCN – FM (MAC 94.7FM) and KCLN – AM (1390 KCLN).

Gendreau Broadcasting is based in Clinton. Gendreau Broadcasting is owned by Brad and Ashley Gendreau of Thomson, Illinois. The couple also own the Iron Horse Fitness Clubs in Clinton and Savanna, and Savanna Auto Sales in Savanna, Illinois.

MAC and KCLN were previously owned and operated by Prairie Radio Communications in Monmouth, Illinois.

“We are very excited to have the stations back in the hands of local business people," Chris Streets, general manager and longtime morning show host, said. "Brad and Ashley are a forward thinking couple who have invested a large amount of time and money into the Clinton community. The employees of the station have been long time residents of the community. We have worked hard to support and help community efforts and with the ownership now being local, that support will only grow.”

No changes are planned at this time for the stations.
