LOW MOOR -- Emergency crews responded Saturday morning to a house explosion and subsequent fire in rural Clinton County.
Low Moor Fire Chief Derek Hoenig reported that his department was called to the scene at 10:17 a.m. Saturday to the residence near the border of Clinton and Scott Counties. Hoenig did not have the specific address available but said the residence had a rural Camanche address.
The blaze took roughly three hours for crews to fully extinguish with Low Moor, Camanche, Princeton, and McCausland Fire Departments responding to the call, Hoenig said. The residence was occupied at the time of the explosion, according to reports, and one person was transported to a local hospital.
The location of the residence down a single lane backroad made it difficult for crews to navigate their way to the site though "it did not damper the firefighting operation," Hoenig said.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
