One injured in Calamus crash

CALAMUS — A rural Clinton County car crash sent one person to the hospital Tuesday afternoon, according to public safety officials.

The Clinton County Sheriff's Department investigated the accident at 170th Avenue and U.S. 30 about 2:45 p.m., according to an incident report. The report says a 2009 Chevrolet Impala was traveling east on U.S. 30 through Calamus when a 1990 Chevrolet C1500 pulled onto U.S. 30 in front of the Impala from 170th Avenue causing a collision.

The driver of the Impala was taken to Genesis in DeWitt by personal vehicle, the report says. The Impala was disabled and towed from the scene by Simonson Auto.

The driver of the C1500 was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right-of-way.
