Overdose, opioids informational class set at library

A class about opioids, overdoses and how to use naloxone will be offered by the Area Substance Abuse Council at the Clinton Public Library. Candace from ASAC will educate attendees Dec. 11 about what to do in the event of an opioid overdose. Doses of Narcan will be available to those who attend. POKEMON CLUB Pokémon card players ages 7 to 18 are invited to join in and play together in a casual setting on Mondays at 4 p.m. If you’d like to trade cards afterwards you’re more than welcome. Pokémon Club is run by our teen volunteers.

FOR TEENS Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. is open Loft time with Kendra. Come hang out on the teen loft for computer time, table games, video games, crafts and a place to get snacks while doing homework.

THINK LAB Wednesday Afternoons from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., join Children's staff for fun activities that change from week to week that are STEAM-oriented and perfect for elementary age kids. Writing Club falls on the second Wednesdays and is led by Ms. Carrie.

TINKERCAD SESSIONS Our classes will be offered on select Saturdays in the Children’s Department. Please call to sign up for a session, which are at 10 a.m. and noon. You can also make appointments with Technology Coordinator Eric Kershner to get a more hands-on tutorial on how to model and design. To make an appointment, book a session, or for more information, please call us at the library at 243-5436. Please note that if you are looking to make an appointment, we ask that you have a minimum of three people in your group.

STORYTIME Morning storytimes are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. Come join the fun with songs, books and puppet shows. Saturday storytime is on the fourth Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m.

HOLIDAY CLOSINGS A friendly reminder that we will be closed Christmas Eve and Day, Monday, Dec. 24, and Tuesday, Dec. 25, and New Year's Eve and Day, Monday, Dec. 31, and Tuesday, Jan. 1.

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOKSTORE Are you looking for some good quality books to purchase at a low price? Well, search no further. The Friends of the Library Underground Bookstore is open Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is located on the lower level of our library. December’s sale is Christmas materials for 25 cents.

On a side note, although all material donations are greatly appreciated, we ask that you not place these items in our outside book drop as this limits space for patron returns. The Friends do have a list of acceptable donation items that they are happy to share with you. Please contact our Friends of the Library during their store hours or call them at 242-0841 to make arrangements for drop offs.
