River City Red Hatters' Easter buffet planned

CLINTON — The River City Red Hatters met recently at the Corner Deli and two March birthdays were celebrated.

Martha Burnett won the door prize. An Easter buffet will be served at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Corner Deli.

Boat Club Bridge results

CLINTON — Helen Jennings and John Carlin recently won first place in Boat Club Bridge with a score of 5,120. Second place was Peg and Mike Wolf, 4,420; third, Charlene and Ron Garrison, 4,120; fourth, Mary Duhr and Kasu Rickertsen, 3,910; fifth, Cindy Kaim and Dan Dawson, 3,830; sixth, Norma McDonnell and Odelia Schrunk, 3,540; seventh, Lucy Melvin and LuAnn Farrell, 3,000; eighth, Jan Wede and Kathy Lorensen, 2,970; ninth, Emily Delaney and Sherry Marlowe, 2,880; and 10th, Kathy Peters and Bill Willrett, 2,870.

The group will meet April 19 at The Corner Deli and Ice Cream Shoppe.

Goose Lake senior citizens meet April 17

GOOSE LAKE — The Goose Lake senior citizens met recently with 30 in attendance.

Blood pressure readings were taken. A moment of silence was held for Curt Peters, son of Marilyn and Loren Peters. Get-well wishes went to Dorothy Kilburg, Pat Driscoll and Bob Richmond.

February birthdays were celebrated by Rita Powers, Ken Banowetz, Phyllis Hlubek, Jan Wede and Ed Jepsen, and Joe and Gail Clasemen celebrated their 44th anniversary. March birthdays were celebrated by Joe Claseman and Phyllis Crippen. 500 winners were Rita Powers, Jim Driscoll, Darla Bormann and Bonnie Murphy and the door prize winner was Phyllis Hlubek.

The group will meet April 17 at the Goose Lake Community Center for a potluck and card playing. All seniors are welcome to attend.

Sunday supper anniversary will be celebrated

CLINTON — Zion Lutheran Church will celebrate its fifth year of serving Second Sunday Supper at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The dinner will be beef stew, fruit salad, rolls, coffee, milk, ice cream cake and special treats. Norma Lindsey will entertain guests by playing her harp.

The community is invited to attend and there is no charge for the meal. If you need a ride, call 242-7391 before Friday.
