Rotary Club announces January programs

CLINTON — Rotary Club of Clinton programs for the month of January were organized by Rotarian Tom Determann. Residents are invited to attend any of these programs by contacting a Rotarian and joining as a guest. Luncheons are at the Tuscany Event Center from noon to 1 p.m. every Monday.

Rotary Club of Clinton January programs include:

– Jan. 7. Speakers: State Sen. Chris Cournoyer and State Reps. Mary Wolfe and Norlin Mommsen. Program: Updates and questions about the new legislative session.

– Jan. 14. Clinton County Jail update. Speakers: Curt Schleicher from the Samuels Group and Corey Johnson, Clinton County facilities director.

– Jan. 21. Program: Opportunity Zones. A community-based committee will introduce the details of a new aspect of federal tax law that will allow people to defer, reduce and possibly eliminate capital gain taxes – while supporting growth projects in certain parts of Clinton.

– Jan. 28. Project Peanut Butter: Student loan repayment program.

The Rotary Board meeting for January will take place Jan. 21 immediately following the club luncheon. All Rotarians are welcome to attend the board meeting.
