CLINTON — In conjunction with Older Americans Month, the 29th annual Plus 50 Living Fair will be from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 23 at the Vista Grande, 2141 16th St. NW, Clinton.
The purpose of this fair is to bring businesses and organizations together in one convenient location to provide information, demonstrations and fun for the area’s 50-plus population. Each booth will offer door prizes to be given away.
Admission is free. The event is sponsored by KROS Radio, 105.9 FM & 1340 AM and MercyOne Medical Center in Clinton.
There will be over 40 different businesses and services on hand to discuss their operations with attendees. Businesses signed up for the event range from financial services and retirement residences to Realtors and more.
“The type and variety of businesses varies each year, which means that if you’ve been here before you should come back and learn more," KROS Account Executive Gary Determan said.
Special health screening opportunities will be offered by MercyOne during the Plus 50 Living Fair. These are screening tests only and not designed to take the place of an exam with your physician. These will be offered at a nominal cost. For accurate results, fast for eight to 10 hours. Participants will have the option of learning their blood pressure at no cost. In addition, representatives will be on hand from a variety of MercyOne health services.
For screening instructions, cost and general information call MercyOne in Clinton at (563) 244-3539.
105.9 FM & 1340 AM, KROS Radio will broadcast from the fair throughout the day with special information on health, nutrition, products and services available to the 50-plus population.
River City Gold will be given away in hourly drawings. You must be present to win. Also, the Clinton Police Department and Gateway Impact Coalition will collect outdated prescription drugs at the Plus 50 Living Fair.
