MAQUOKETA — Community members are invited to a public input meeting about the proposed Prairie Creek Campground project at 7 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Hurstville Interpretive Center.
Jackson County Conservation Board members and Executive Director Daryl Parker will give a presentation about the campground project. An engineer for the project and representatives of Northland Securities will provide additional information.
The Prairie Creek Campground proposal includes the following amenities: 50 modern full hook-up campsites, 20 primitive campsites, four year-round modern cabins, a modern restroom/shower building, playground, and splash pad.
The campground is projected to bring in an annual income of over $225,000. The total projected cost for the project is $3 million. Revenue from the campground will repay the loan over 20 years.
