FULTON, Ill. — The River Cities Quilt Guild will host its 2019 quilt show Sept. 27 from noon to 8 p.m. and Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The guild will show its work at the Fulton Presbyterian Church, 311 Ninth St., Fulton.
The show includes quilts of all sizes, and other fabric projects. Guild members will be in attendance to answer questions about guild activities. Admission to the show is $5.
The guild will sell raffle tickets for a queen size quilt in blue/green batik fabrics in a Storm at Sea pattern. The guild will also have a boutique featuring many wonderful handmade gift items. This year, the guild has added a “gently used” shop of sewing related items.
The show also includes several vendors. Janette Dwyer will be there to provide professional quilt appraisals. Clark scissor/knife sharpening will work on site sharpening knives and scissors. Also selling on site, will be Feed Mill Fabrics & Quilting from Oneida, Illinois and Heartland Cottons, from DeWitt.
This year there will be 40 door prizes, most valued at $25 or more to award throughout the two-day show, and a silent auction. The voting for people’s choice awards and silent auction items will conclude at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The quilt show is an opportunity to promote quilting and sewing in the river city area. The profits from the show allow the River Cities Quilt Guild to support several charities and to engage instructors and speakers for meetings and workshops. The River Cities Quilter’s Guild is open to anyone in the area that has an interest in sewing and quilting.
