Festival of Trees is not to be missed
A lot was happening last Saturday in downtown Clinton.
First, it was Small Business Saturday, with shoppers traveling up and down the streets to check out what their local stores have to offer.
Then, the downtown Clinton Christmas tree was lighted at 6 p.m., with singing and a visit from Santa Claus preceding the ceremonial lighting overseen by Clinton Mayor Mark Vulich.
And just down the street was the Festival of Trees, now in its fourth year at the Clinton County Historical Society. This year, 27 themed trees are glowing throughout the Festival, which continues through Dec. 8.
The event is free and one that has some surprises in store. During the tour, you’ll get a kick out of the Batman tree decorated by the Red Hatters. One tree also is for sale. Loaded with baseball cards it would be a great gift for the baseball fan. Near it, is a majestic Nativity scene set up by Arlene Rose Considine.
There are many beautiful trees, all guaranteed to catch your eye.
This is an event worth seeing, and will no doubt get you in the holiday spirit.
