Reader: There is much to be thankful for in Clinton

I'm writing in response to Jodie Robinson's recent letter expressing gratitude and thanks for our community.

I would like to add my thanks and gratitude for all she expressed and to add some additions.

I'm very thankful to all of our city employees for taking care of our streets, garbage and recycling.

In addition, I would like to thank all Clinton residents who show pride in their homes and neighborhoods by keeping their lawns, sidewalks and homes tidy. We all benefit when our neighborhoods are litter- and weed-free. Our property values don't diminish when we work to maintain our homes and help our neighbors when we can.

I'm grateful to our police force for keeping us safe and to our first responders for answering a fire or medical emergency call at any time of the day or night.

We are very fortunate to live in a community filled with kind, caring, generous clergy ready and able to tend to any and all of our spiritual needs.

We also benefit from terrific educational opportunities for all age groups.

Clinton is filled with committed residents who keep our city thriving and moving forward towards positive outcomes. Thanks to everyone who holds an elected seat or serves in a volunteer capacity. You strive to do your best for our community.

Lastly, I am extremely grateful to be a life-long Clinton resident. Thanks to all those past and present who've made our community a fine place to live and to raise a family.
