Prince of Peace senior Patrick Mulholland joined a slew of other local athletes in making his next step in his athletic career, signing a letter of intent to join the Wartburg Knights on the football field next year.

The four-sport athlete (baseball, golf, basketball, football) choose the turf over his other sports because he likes the competitive nature of the game.

“I love the competitiveness, the brotherhood of it and the physicality,” Mulholland said.

Mulholland is joining  athletes from the area heading to be Knights as well, including a handful of Northeast and Central DeWitt athletes. Rushing leader Easton Necker from the Sabers along wtih Jeff Grau and Brandt Peterson. Big state leaders for the Rebels Dawson Stoll and Braeden Hoyer are also heading that way, just to name a few.

“The fact that a lot of people that are going to Wartburg really influenced me because I didn’t want to go somewhere I felt isolated ... it makes me excited with all these good, young players heading that way now, we’re looking to be a good team when we’re seniors.”
